What is Pirathropes?

Pirathropes is a medical condition where the patient believes they are a pirate.
The condition is caused by over exposure to piratical media. Including the feature movies Pirates of the Caribbean, The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad and the computer game Sid Meyer's Pirates.
Treatments include repeated exposure to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine to negate the effects on the psyche.
Individuals with Pirathropes have been known to dress in a piratical manner, e.g. eye patches, striped shirts, three corner hats, etc. In some extreme case individuals have self amputated limbs to replace them with self fashioned replacements, such as wooden legs and hooks.
