A woman who is a lesbian, not because she is attracted to women, but for political reasons. Political lesbians are frequently also lesbian separatists, and may believe that all straight sex is rape. Characterized by a hatred of pornography, humorlessness and, often, involvement in academia. Fortunately a dying breed.
John: I heard Mary was a lesbian.
Jane: Lesbian, my ass. She's just taken too many feminist lit classes. She's a political lesbian.
