What is a "Pond Jumper"? A "Pond Jumper" is one who, when faced with adversity, stagnation or a declining quality of life, decides that a fundamental change must be made to evolve the individual, whether mentally, physically, religiously, philosophically, or emotionally. A "Leap of Faith", as interpreted by the individual, is made, in an effort to make an intimate change in their life to benefit themselves and the ones they love and care for.

Edward, realizing the way he lived life did not benefit himself or the ones he loved, decided to make a drastic change and follow the "Pond Jumper" philosophy and face the fears that have kept him stagnant for all those years.
