One of your friends that you keep around to make yourself look and feel better. The person is typically less attractive, funny, and intelligent than you are. They are always available to hang out and will go anywhere with you, hence portable. A mobile ego boost.
On bad hair days, I make sure to go out with my portable ego.
My portable ego came in very handy last night at the bar.
