What is Poseur Punk?

A kind of "music" where the artist/band claims to be punk, but they aren't. The artists usually dress like 12 year old kids. They rarely sound the same on a CD as they do live.
A lame attempt by MTV to make more money.
Real punk died in the 80's. Deal with it.
Sane person: Good Charlotte, Sum 41 and Avril play poseur punk. They suck.

Someone who thinks their punk but doesn't follow the punk culture. These people are terrible at everything and Do not even Know Who Jello Biafra is.

Simply put, crappy punk-rock music.
I think it's funny how 'punks' bitch about how poseur a certain band is, or how band X is "SO much more punk" than band Y, when in reality these 'poseur punk bands' are simply CRAPPY punk bands.

A Poseur Punk (commonly misspelled Poser Punk) is somebody who labels themselves Punk and tries to keep up with a modern definition of Punk, and may change his/her style to fit in. Punk is supposed to be about being yourself, and not trying to be 'trendy'. People think that the way somebody dresses or the music they listen to defines them and defines punk, but punk is about individuality and being comfortable with yourself. Usually, people who label others or themselves would be considered the actual Poseurs.
*Example*
Person 1: Oh my god! That person of there wishes they were punk, but they are just Poseur Punk. They shop at Hot Topic and listen to blink182!
Person 2: Get your own ideas, you loser. I'm not trying to be anything.
