What is Preshadowing?

Something in a feature film that is said, gesticulated, or implied that either directly or indirectly references a preceding event.

There was Preshadowing at the end of the PC commercial, the pre-teen with the irritating voice announced, "I'm a PC," while that was already deduced whilst he purchased the cheap laptop.

A line in a book/mobie/tv show that references something that has already occured in said piece. Opposite of foreshadowing.

There was a ton of preshadowing in High School Musical 3.
