What is Religiomedy?

A category or way of describing media (film, books, plays, etc.) that is lighthearted and comedic in tone, yet has an underlying theme of religion or uses a religious backdrop. Religiomedies often tend to be sacrilicious, but are never meant to taken too seriously as a slight against God or as ridicule.

1. The movie "Dogma" was one of the best religiomedies I've ever seen.

2. Steve's play at Loyola Academy was a great religiomedy, not to mention very sacrilicious.

3. Catholicism is a favored target of many religiomedies.
