What is Retail Drag?

The force exterted on a human body by retail outlets. Typically experienced when out walking with your partner and they trail 10 metres behind you looking in shoe/clothing/accessory/tool/electrical shops. The force is sex-specific, females being almost exclusively affected by the first three, males by the latter two. Retail drag is similar to other drag forces in that the drag force increases the faster you try to move the affected body.
- "We are going to have to walk faster or we'll miss our train"
- "Yeah, the girls have got bad retail drag"
