What is Roadology?

A word made up by the Japanese people to describe who-knows-what.
It is also used in slang by English-speaking people to describe the science of being a tourist, either in reference to oneself or a tourist to one's home nation.
1) Japanese Travel Guide: "And to your right is the Center for Silk Roadology!"
English-speaking Tourist: "...What the hell?"
2) "Roadology is a fine science, my friend. I mean, wearing
fanny pack s and falling into everytourist trap you see is something that is learned with years of study."
