1. A negative nancy in some senses. An utterly pessimistic bastardwith no real future. Probably has a few children, all of which hate him/her. This person is most likely divorced.

2. Another term for a classical language teacher, who consequently, has no real future.

That high-school Latin teacher is a real Rodde. That guy has nothing going for him!
