A very large, heavy, deadly mass of snow falling off a large roof at once, destroying all below, and generally causing panic when the house shakes.
Hannah: Honey, what the heck was that?
Stanley: Ah, nothing.. go back to sleep, it was just a roofalanche. no worries...
