The line on a basketball court from behind which a field goal is worth 3 points instead of 2. Originated in the American Basketball Association before being adopted by the NCAAand NBA.

Louie drilled a 23 footer from behind the 3 point line to turn a 2 point deficit into a 1 point lead for his team.
