1. an inexpensive item of food purchased simultaneously with an alcohollic beverage so the underage customer can walk out of the shop retaining some dignity after being asked for i.d.
2. an item of food simultaniously bought with alcohol by an underage drinker that would probably only be bought by someone over 18 designed to confuse the shop assistant into thinking the customer is genuine.
1. a "freddo" is specifically designed to be used as a safety buy costing only 10p.
2. thankfully the shop clerk at tescos didn't think twice about serving tom three litres of vodka after he purchased a loaf of brown bread and a pint of milk.
