The act or an example of taking offense to an inert, innocuous statement.

Examples of samerism:

Brett: It sure is rainy today, Sam.

Sam: It's not my fault it's raining!

Brett: I want to read more Paul Krugman editorials before I even consider giving his Bush administration criticisms any gravity.

Sam: Don't call me uninformed!
