1. to arrive at work with the expectation you have a certain amount of work (what you had when you left the day previous) only to find out you have extra work assigned to you unexpectedly.
2. a sudden feeling of overwhelming workload, often accompanied by a large feeling of dread and possibly dizzieness.
3. sometimes used as a joke.
