Scapegoat Edit Meaning

(n.) A scapegoat is an event person or object that is used to lay the blame on for all that goes wrong, regardless of the contributions of others. This will usually carry on until the scapegoat has gone, or has managed to successfully defend itself against the arguements presented to it.

The word comes from Judaism. During mass reconciliation the rabbi would bring a goat to the alter. The sins of the people would be absorbed into the goat, and it would then be killed, its' blood staining the alter until cleansed. This is what Jesus Christreflected in his crucifixion, being a scapegoat.

Post-hardcore band based out of Charlotte, NC on Tragic Hero Records; consisting of Kit Walters (vocals), Dan Hits (drums), Justin Driscoll (guitar), Dan Royer (bass), and Spencer Bensch (guitar).

Members Justin Driscoll, Dan Royer, and Dan Hitselberger began playing together in 1998. They found vocalist Kit Walters in the summer of 1998. They entered the studio in 2000 to record their first tracks. In 2002, after a successful debut CD and the release of their sophomore effort Element of Design, Scapegoat's influence grew locally.
