Verb or noun used to designate an instance where someone is done, finished or knocked out for the night or an indefinite period of time.
Also can be used as an indication that you are leaving or bouncing.
Invented after Rob Scuderi, bit player for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL), left a hockey game against the Toronto Maple Leafs in severe pain after having found himself on the receiving end of a Bryan McCabe slapshot. It was clear that he would be out for a prolonged period.
