What is Scene Kid?
1.
Scene does not refer to emo (which is currently a nonexistent music genre- easily mistaken for pop-punk)in any way.
Scene refers to the music scene in someones town.
examples:
If many metal bands play in a town and there are lots of kids who go to metal shows...their "Scene" would be the "metal scene"
If many indie bands play in a town and there are lots of kids who go to indie shows...their "Scene" would be the "indie scene"
If many industrial bands play in a town and there are lots of kids who go to industrial shows...their "Scene" would be the "industrial scene"
and so on and so forth.
Scene doesn't reflect on the way a person dresses, how they act, what there emotional status is or how many times they "cut maselfffffff"
Scene just refers to music.

Your typical scene kid, guy or girl, will either have black hair, or some insane color, or just crazy streaks, with a shock of bangs covering up one eye or both. Hair MUST be dead straight. Sometimes it's poofy-spiked in the back, whatever u call it. Pretty much just the white kids follow the hair trend. Or girls of other ethnicities. I do NOT recommend this part to black guys. Ever seen one with long hair and a poof in the bag? WITH a shock of bangs and crazy hair color? Not the best visual I assume.
Guys will typically have on extremely tight skinny jeans, sometimes girls jeans, with a really tight fitting band t-shirt and bracelets. The jeans usually aren't flares or bootcuts, but straight-leg pencil jeans.
Girls will normally have on the same thing or funky outfits that won't match but will go together. Typical outfit will consist of a polka-dot or striped shirt with a band hoody and they will have on sometimes skirts with crazy leggings. Lots of leggings. They will wear little kid barrettes and bows, bright eyeshadow, the hugest sunglasses in the world, and strands of pearls/beads. Oh and handbands are a MUST.
A lot of scene chicks will wear no namebrand clothing and then have a really expensive designer bag.
Definately a cool belt, sometimes the buckle worn on the side, like on the hip.
Straight-Edge(no smoking, no drinking) & being Christian & being a vegetarian is really popular. I never knock straight-edge. Even though it's become a trendy thing, at least it promotes good health.
Saying omgzzzz & rawr & bikthx (I don't know why either).
Both guys and girls will wear loads of eyeliner and Converse chucks or Vans.
They're favorite pastime is of course going to lots of shows, and doing it up on MySpace. Most people consider scene kids to be MySpace whores, because they will add any and everyone just to get their friends count up (they're not the only ones tho!). Will have a gazillion photos of themselves photoshopped, covering their mouth, throwing up peace signs, doing the pigeon toe, holding the camera up in the air, them and one of their friends putting their faces together while smiling and looking down with their bangs all in their face, kissing the mirror, or holding their knees & looking down as though to say that they're sad. They'll give their pictures random titles that make no sense, just makes them sound deep. Tend to come off either overly depressed when they're more than likely not, or they'll seem incredibly conceited, vain, and arrogant. Most aren't that way, they just do it because everyone else is. There are some cool/nice ones though.
They're typical username on Myspace will have to do with they're favorite band/song or just death/suicide. Will normally have brackets around things or lots of X's. Scene kids have the most awesome pages on Myspace AND the most "friends". A lot of them will use words like Terror,Strange, & Suicide in their names. Ex: Travis Terror, or Emily Suicide. They also like to use the copyright and trademark symbols.
A lot of them wear bandanas around their necks or around their head or even covering their face. They use old slang like rad and stellar. And old hip hop/urban slang no one uses anymore, like fashizzle & fosho. They like to call each other nigga, nikka, nukka. Obsessed with robots and dinosaurs.
They like to say random silly offthewall things that make no sense, but to them it's helarious.
A vast majority of scene kids are bisexual or gay. For most it's just part of the trend that they're following. For others who ARE bi/gay, it's a way for them to fit in and make friends.
Part of the trend is random making out with someone of the same sex, in front of large crowds. I don't get this either, but hey it's what they do. Kinda hot sometimes when it's guys. I'm just sayin......
That's it. That's a scene kid for you. Don't knock the scene kids. I mean they're not going around knocking the hip hop kids or the preps. A scene kid will not interfere with your lifestyle, so, don't interfere with theirs.
See above for an example of a Scene Kid. Shit my fingers hurt.

Scene kids are really adorable and usually extremely nice.
Scene kids are very lively and fun to be around.
Scene kids are often mistaken for emo kids. Scene is a mixture of emo and preppy and they like to go to shows (where the scene is). Scene kids will occasionally listen to a rap song.
A scene GIRL: is pale, wears flats, jeans, striped shirts, shirts with bands, big jewelry, animalfur-patterened shirts, camoflauge, short choppy multicolored hair with bangs sweeping over one eye.
a scene BOY: tight jeans, camoflauge, band shirts, black clothing, bandanas, black hair usually and often multi colored streaks in it as well that fringes over an eye.
81.6% of scene kids have a myspace. *not proven
you can often catch scene kids saying "rawrr," "you are the sex," "bang bang bang," "i'm a ganstaa," "
they also use words like "rad" and "stellar"
scene kids have cute obsessions with things like rocketships, cheerios, ninjas, or pokemon (for example).
cute scene girls are usually going out with adorable scene guys...and are always "madly inlove with one another"
scene kid (boy): "hey love, are you coming with me to the from first to last show tonight? its supposed to be rad."
scene girl:"yeah i heard that was gonna be stellar."
scene boy: "aww you ARE the sex" :) *kiss with no tounge*
scene girl: "pick me up later...i have to redo my makeup. i look like a retardface"

Scene Kids are the new wave hardcore kids. Often mistaken for emo because of people's ignorance. They are actually a happy new trend. They are the other half of the hardore civil war (meatheads vs scene kids) they also listen to screamo, techno, punk rock, indie rock and hip hop. All scene kids style and straighten their hair. Most wear eyeliner (not to be confused with emo eyepaint), girl pants and tight band/splash paint style shirts. It is rare to see a scene kid without converse shoes but, vans or retro shoes are also in their list of clothing accessories. THEY DO NOT CUT THEIR WRISTS... like I said before they are not emo and tend to dislike EMOtionaly unhappy people. In more urban areas scene kids carry hand guns and are more gang like. Most scene kids go to shows regularly and are seen in pits hardcore dancing.
From First to Last is a band scene kids might listen to while Dashboard Confessional is a band emo kids listen to.

Ok scene is NOT to be confused with emo! Scene embodies a certaint style and attitude towards life , usually more postive than someone who might be emo. Im most definately not stereotyping, but there ARE some observations ive made....
A Large part of being a scene kid is the style...
Guys:
Hair:Straightened,almost always w/ sidebangs.Sometimes dyed.
Clothes : tight pants ( girl pants) , tight bands Ts and hoodies. studded belts. Shoes: Vans , skateboard sneakers, sometimes boots.Sometimes slightly bisexual.
Girls: very diverse. Hair usually straightened , dyed and cchoppily cut shoulder length or shorter. Studded belts , beads and polka dots are common. studded belts. usually darker clothes paired and layed with brighter shirts. Vans , flats , and skateboard shoes popular.
Both: * usually ave a thing for myspace. screen names and myspaces have lots of Xxs before and after ( Xx________xX)
* lip piercings
* love of strange sort of cutesy things : polka dots, japanese anime , comic books, colorful jewelry.
* enjoy sayings like : thats the sex , shit , shiznit, rave , ect. The word rad or uber-rad. also rawr and arf. enjoy ghetto sayings that they find entertaining.

Scene kids are the shit!
The guys wear: tight chick pants, tight band shirts, T.U.K. shoes sometimes, rite-aid slip-on shoes, sometimes eyeliner, they have black or bleach blonde hair, and bangs in their face
The girls wear: tapered pants, bright shirts, many layers of shirts, a lot of pearls, a lot of eyeliner, bright eyeshadow, T.U.K. shoes, ballet flats, mostly rite-aid slip-ons vans slip ons, little girl hair clips, long choppy bleach blonde hair, short black and bleach blonde hair, both with bangs that are in their face
and most often they dye and cut their own hair
They listen to the best music that they LIKE for real. They live for shows, local or not it doesn't matter they like the music they'll be there. And they love to mosh so be careful. They make up words and call everyone kid, they are in love with dinosaurs, robots, and ninjas, oh and myspace. They use cool words like rad. They are often vegetarian or vegan.
In their myspace pictures you can never see there face and their pictures are always photoshopped
You cannot give an example of wha a scene kid says they may dress similar and use some of the same words but they are all different
