To slap someone whilst they are staring into space with a wet hand esp one that has been licked by the owner.
Originated in Hitchin, Hertfordshire U.K. spelling is as the word is said to highlight the wet apsect ofthe sound your hand makes as it 'schlaps' your unsuapecting friends face and ruins his daydream.
also 'Schlapped'can be used for the past tense when retelling the story.
