The word Schmurpht, usually is applied to an act (such as sitting around or smoking) where the person achieves nothing. A Schmurphter is one who partakes in the act of Schmurphting.
"Meht what were you up to this weekend?"
"just sat around schmurphting on cathedral green with a fat splee"
