Yiddish or German term meaning "black person". It is not a hateful term.
Shaquille O'Neal is considered a schwartza since he is a black man.

Concerning what to call folk who have dark skin and less than straight hair, I'd like to say (as a white man) we have no clue what to call them. They keep changing what they want to be called.
