Seersucker

What is Seersucker?

1.

A suit worn in the American south that is typically defined by small blue to navy vertical stripes on a white background. It is worn normally during the summer months as an alternative to the more popular business suit based on its light and cool fabric that is more tolerable to the hot and humid conditions.

Something you would see an lawyer in New Orleans wearing in the mid 1900's. Also sported by Gregory Peck's character Atticus Finch in the movie adaptation of "To Kill a Mockingbird"

Tom - "It is so hot outside Jim, what should i wear to this wedding?"

Jim - "I'm putting on that seersucker I've had in the closet for the past 150 years."

See searsucker, southern gentleman, south, new orleans, charleston, atlanta

2.

A type of clothing that is sort of flexible and stretchy. It usually has stripes of varying colors down it.

I just bought this awesome seersucker jacket from Ralph Lauren!

3.

One who blows psychics. See also George Carlin.

I thought it was a type of suit fabric, but apparently not.
