What is Shabbadios?

A farewell, or conventional expression used at parting, used in order to leave a place of business, meeting, or social gathering in order to arrive at home or other place of worship prior to sunset on Friday in accordance with the Jewish observance of Shabbat. Using this term relieves the user of having to explain why they must be leaving earlier than everyone else.

2. An excuse used for leaving any place before scheduled departure time regardless of type of activity.

3. A slang alternative to saying goodbye.

Example: (at 4:00pm on Friday) “Hey guys, I’ve got to shabbadios today” or “Shabbadios everyone, see you Monday!”
