Its close proximity to downtown and area universities make it a prime place to live for young professionals, law/med students and well-monied families. Shadyside features hip shops, restaurants and bars along Walnut Street and Ellsworth Avenue. Renovated row houses and large Victorians are common residences in Shadyside.
