What is Shanmugam?

A common South Indian name which means 'A man with six faces'. It is a combination of Sanskrit and Tamil words; 'Shan' in Sanskrit means 'six' and 'mugam' in Tamil means 'face'.

Etymology: This is one of the names of Hindu God Lord Muruga who is also known as 'Tamil kadavul', The God of Tamil.
