Shelf-ride Edit Meaning

Finding pleasure in placing something on a shelf, and deliberately not using it while being well aware of its existence and location.

EX1:

Friend- "wow, dude thats the Japanese import of FF7, but you don't read Japanese!"

Dude- "I don't need to read Japanese. I'm gonna shelf-ride the SHIT out of this thing!"

EX2:

Son- "My dad's got some stuff he's been shelf riding since the 60's"

EX3:

Girl - "I gave you a gift, and you never use it!."

Guy - "What do you mean?. I shelf-ride it every day!."
