A portmaneu of "shojo" and "otaku", shotaku refers to an anime or manga fan who prefers shojo, the 'girly' genre of anime and manga.

- "OMG, you have Hello Kitty stickers on your phone! That means you blindly worship anything and everything Japanese, desu ne? Who's your favorite Naruto character~?!~~!!!"

- "Uh, sorry, I'm not really into the martial-arts stuff. I'm kind of a shotaku." (laughs nervously and backs away)
