A skimmachine is a vehicle that uses ground effect to lift itself off the earth's surface. Its advantage over for example boats is the lesser drag and higher speed attainable with the same power usage. Its advantage over planes is that skimmachines are normally registered as boats and are thus less expensive to maintain.
