What is Smingey?

An unpleasant, probably brown, probably smelly, probably sticky object, coating, food or person.
Originates from television series 'Men Behaving Badly' in which writer Simon Nye wanted to introduce a word into the language (as Red Dwarf had done with
"It was cooked in a smingey sauce"
"I looked behind the sofa and whatever had fallen down the back had gone all smingey"
