A smugtard is: (a) one who is content to live in a delusion and pretends that all is well in order to save face or maintain the status quo. (b)One who is stalwart in defending their position despite overwhelming evidence that they completely and utterly wrong.
Example (a): The smugtard waged a war against the wrong country.
(b)Janine was a smugtard when she happily proceeded with her wedding plans despite catching an STD from her fiance and finding out he sired many illegitimate offspring during their courtship.
