This word originated in the early 2000's when a boy spotted a Vans advertisement in a skateboarding magazine. He read aloud Vans backwards to his friend with whom he was talking on the phone. She liked the way it sounded and and the two agreed they should use this word in place of cool. "Snav" was born, and it has been in use ever since!
