Someone who is unconcerned with most things apart from snowboarding. Including moaning about skiers, if there were no skiers there would be no ski patrol, you would bash your head because you messed up on a jump that you had no idea how to do because you learnt snowboard tricks from SSX tricky on the playsation 2, and you would die on the mountain because no-body would get you down. If people didnt ski, then ski resorts would lose 80% of their income, and shut down. Most snowboarders who are actively involved in the sport or live in a resort have best friends who are skiers. Bad snowboarders are just as annoying on the hill as bad skiers. People who sit in the park and take an hour to build up the courage to hit a jump are far better than people who ride through the park, hit nothing, and then bitch about those people who are sat down. Calling a skier a bitch or a c*nt doesnt make you a cool snowboarder, it makes you a prick. Wearing ridiculous clothing and using words like 'steez' 'shred the gnar' and 'badass mother fucker' doesnt make you a snowboarder, it makes you sound like a retared ex-ganster. Snowboarding is a lifestyle choice, you choose to be unconcerned with politics and social crap, including belittling other people. You snowboard because it gives you a rush, because you like the peace and quiet of the hill, and because its fun, it has nothing to do with status. Yeah there are annoying things like skiers going slowly infront of you, get over it, and get good enough to go where they cant. Bitch less ride more.

anyone who snowboards. many (but not all) skiers hate snowboarders because they have only seen the snowboarders who either suck so much that they only slide down the mountain and scrape snow (but hey, they gotta start somewhere), or the cocky ones who only hit park all day long on good pow days and are assholes to skiers who are also in the park. its because of riders like this that skiers have created an extremely negative stereotype about snowboarders. these snowboarders account for about only 5%-45% of the snowboarders, depending on where you go. most of the skiers don't have friends who are true riders create and live by these stereotypes.
true riders:
dont bitch and whine about skiers all the time- they can be just as cool as us
dont hog up the park all day and sit down in landings
shred the pow when possible
can ride whatever they feel like and dont hate on other riders who rip on different stuff then they do, unless the rider ONLY does park (some people like backcountry more, some like park more, some like inbounds more, but a good mix is what i like).
ride to have fun, to live life. (and they can do this w/friends)
(and also, shawn white is a great rider, and im not hatin, but he isnt the only great one. ever heard of guys like craig kelly, or antti autti?)
most snowboarders are actually really ill guys.
yes we have our own language. dont start hatin because you dont know what ill, shred, pow, gnar, and such means.

A snowboarder is someone who doesn't just won a snowboard but lives the snowboard culture. Not only does one have to be an expert to consider themselves a snowboarder, real snowboarders would never consider: going into a park when theres powder elsewhere on the mountain, stopping and sitting down, moving out of the way for some newbie skier who sucks ass, wearing their pants so low that when they're in powder snow gets down them, and finally no real snowboarder snowboards with other snowboarders. This just brings down the integrity of oneself is he is seen with other snowboard owners not snowboarders per se. Snowboarders dont scrape snow off the mountain and dont go down the hill in the stopping position. These acts are only for the inexperienced owners who suck at life. All in all snowboarders are probably the most down to earth and normal people on the hill. Next time you see one, try riding the lift with them, you will be suprised at how much cooler they are than your lame skiing counterpart
