What is Soul Slide?

Noun - a brief moment in time in which one is devastated by a painful event. Often includes a sting-like feeling, chest pains, and sunken stomach.

Entymology: The term is taken from the lyrics of the Oasis hit "Don't Look Back in Anger". In the song, the term is used to describe the hurt feelings of "Sally" and the narrator:

"So Sally can wait

She knows it's too late

As she's walking on by

My soul slides away

But don't look back in anger

I heard you say

At least not today"
