What is Southern Rebel?

A term for the people that live in the Northern states (usually in the Appalachian area) who are in denial that they are from the North but still think they are rebels and from the country. What these people usually are is a redneck or just a hick.
Girl One: Wow. That Sarah girl is so fake. She wears John Deere and cowboy boots and talks about how country she is and how all she listens to is country music!
Girl two: That's because she's a Southern Rebel.
