What is Space Trash?

Man-made objects remaining in space though they no longer serve any useful purpose. It is estimated that hundreds of millions of pieces of space trash are now floating through our region of the solar system.
The other day, while cleaning out the dead squirrels from my pool, some space trash hit my cheap hand me down patio furniture and destroyed my table.
