Word used to identify an individual member of the notorious Jamaican drug gang known as the Spangler Posse. In Jamaica, the Posses were used to inflict instrumental violence during elections and for other political purposes. When regimes shifted, various gangs relocated to avoid arrest and imprisonment. Edgecombe Avenue and 145th Street in NYC was literally taken over by the Spangler Posse and became a major drug distribution point for cocaine and marijuana. Homicide and extreme violence were rampant. Finally, city fathers demanded action when a duct tape covered, severed head was found in streets being used by children as a soccer ball. A two year long investigation by the Joint Homicide Strike Force (DANY, NYPD, BATF & INS) resulted in total disruption of the gangs operations and incarceration and deportation of the majority of its members.
