The Spirits of St. Louis were one of the few teams (the Kentucky Colonelswere another] that did not join the NBA in that merger. Moses Malone was a star player for the Spirits of St. Louis.

The Spirits of St. Louis were a fun team to watch during the days of the freewheeling ABA.
