What is St. Francis Prep?
1.
St. Francis Prep is a private Catholic prep school in Queens, New York City. It's most well-known graduate is Yankees manager Joe Torre, who, it is known amongst Preppies, never gives a cent to the school. Its students come from all parts of New York City; most are from Queens but many are from Brooklyn and Manhattan. SFP is known for its strict dress code rules. Boys wear belts, slacks and polo shirts, while girls wear polo shirts and pleated skirts which they are notoriously known to hike up. 50% or more of the Prep population comes from rich Italian families in New York that have at least a small connection to the Mafia. Cut class once and you get six days of detention.
Prep kids are notoriously known for coming to school in a Hummer and walking around in either Armani shoes or with a Gucci or Versace bag on their shoulders.
"That kid goes to St. Francis Prep? Oh shit. Must be a snob."

Rich white kids who wear name brand bags and shoes such as Coach and Diesel dominate this Catholic prep school. When hanging out outside of school, wear Abercrombie&Fitch, Hollister, American Eagle, or Armani Exchange and you're sure to blend in. Every sports team thinks they are better than the others. Regular classes are disorganized, slow, and taught by teachers who can't seem to control their students. Meanwhile, Honors and AP teachers tend to be harsh graders and very demanding of their sheltered, pretentious, and extremely competitive students, which often results in high student stress levels and lowered self-esteem. SFP's education is overrated; the 4-year curriculum has a different order than every other catholic school ("it's the New Jersey of Catholic Schools") , and most students don't even go on to study at noteworthy colleges. Cliques can be found everywhere and almost everyone cheats (despite the school's "strict Honor Code"). The SFP administration decided to ban skirts after many years of the school's reputation being diminished because of girls who wore their skirts too high and couldn't keep their legs closed. The administration has also revealed their plan to add uniform shoes to the dress code. Drinkers and smokers are common among students (especially grades 10-12), although the school has cracked down on pot smoking over the past few years. Ethnic races tend to stick together. School spirit runs exceptionally low.
