What is Stage-whisper?

where someone says something in a mock whisper: the way you would whisper on stage, so that the audience could hear you.
useful for paying someone out.
"o, sit over here with me!" said anna
"back away slowly.." stage-whispered jerry behind his hand
(jerry stage-whispered it so that anna could hear as well but in a feigned whisper)
