What is Stubum?

A slang word with positive and/or negative connotations. Its primary meaning is the same as buddy, pal, friend, etc., but it is a lot more fun to say. It is used mostly as a description of a male human being, but it can also be use as a description of a female human being as well as other beings.
Positive example (Human being): "Hey stubum, how you doing?"
Negative example (Human being): "Man, you left me hanging, you stubum."
Positive example (Dog): "Come here fido and let me scratch your belly you ole stubum."
Negative example (Elephant): "That elephant is such a stubum, he stepped on my toes."
Positive example (Alien): "ET, you're all right you stubum you."
Negative example (Alien): "Those Klingons are such stubums, they need to chill."
Positive example (Foreign language): "Bonjour stubum, comment faites-vous?"
Negative example (Foreign language): "Hombre, usted me abandono ejecucion en la horca, usted subum."
Origin: The origin of stubum is unclear, but it was frequently heard as banter among University of Cincinnati hockey players in the late 1970's. It is believed to have been coined by the stubum goaltender who was quite creative with nicknames and song lyrics.
