Stupid. Dumb. Slow. Lacking common sense. A person just smart enough to get themselves and those around them into serious trouble.
Earl was finished his day's work at the barn. So, he climbed up into the loft, flaked out on a few hay bails and lite a smoke.
Jeb, the ranch owner caught him and said: "Earl! You fool, put out that cigarette! ... They said you was slow, but that's just plain stund!"
