One who expresses beauty through primping hair, make-up and/or wardrobe and results in a distinctive look that receives praise from respected industry members and clientele. Also used as a derogatory term relative to the CW's show "Stylista" which exploited wannabe fashionistas in Fall 2008.
In the December 2008 issue of Vogue UK the editors referred to Emma Watson as a “stylista” since she doesn’t use a stylist but chooses what she wears and does her own hair and make-up.
