What is Subway Tag?
1.
Subway Tag stems from the 1930's depression era, when hobos used to leave symbolic messages for eachother recognized by only members of their own community across the country. Subway Tag is a name for the modern version of this where a small group of people from a subculture leave physical markers in public places for others of that subculture to recognize usually but not necessarily confined to one city or metropolitain area. "Way" refers to the path or message intended by the taggers. "Sub" implies subculture, and "Tag" refers to the physical symbolic markers either grafitti or otherwise left behind the tagger.
Guy 1: Yesterday, I made my girlfriend follow a goth subway tag with me, and we ended up at a swinger party she not want to be at.
Guy 2: Ouch. Did she give you back your balls?
