What is Synchronized Skating?

A very up and coming popular figure skatingsport. Teams from all over the world compete against each other. 12-20 members of each team have a program in which they compete the hardest moves for the highest points.

The world synchronized skating USA teams are Miami University and the Haydenettes. Miami University ended the Haydenettes winning streak in the 2005-2006 season even though they were ripped off in the 2004-2005 season.

A team of 12-20 figure skaters who move across the ice as a unit. Synchronized Skating is most popular in the Scandinavian countries and North America. Team Surprise of Sweden holds the record of being the most decorated team in history, holding 5 World Championship titles. Miami University is the most decorated team affiliated with a university, winning the only World Championship medal for the US to date. Miami University is also the current US National Champion.

The Synchronized Skating team of Miami University has won US Nationals 3 times, and are the current National Champions.
