The word "tait" is a colloquial term used to reference the Top Eight on the popular social networking website MySpace. Tait is combined and shortened from the term "Top Eight" and is born out of the lexicon of Santa Cruz and San Francisco hipsters, the same kids that also brought you and popularized "jobbie," "the 'bies," and "holler."
The word is also a play on the colloquial "tait," in reference to human anatomy.
