Slang for the method of typing that involves repetitive tapping on a mobile device's touchscreen keyboard with the hope that it will correctly detect and display the text you are typing. The phrase was originally used in relation to the iPhone/ iTouchdue to its small button size, poor sensitivity, and awful reaction time in comparison to other smartphones. Tap and Pray was originally coined by internet humorist Maddox in the article "The iPhone is a piece of shit and so is your face".

Person 1: "It took me forever to type the URL of slangdefine's iphone page on my iphone!"

Person 2: "Dude, just bookmark it next time so you won't have to Tap and Pray."
