(Chinese: 鄧麗君) A taiwanese pop singer who died as a result of a severe asthma attack in 1995. Undoubtedly the best-selling and most influential C-Pop singer of all time, Ms Teng's songs all reached classic status within her lifetime. Her songs are instantly recognisable in Taiwan, Hong-Kong, Macau, China, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and cities in North-America and Australia with large Chinese-speaking communities such as Los Angeles, Sydney, Brisbane and Vancouver. Teng is quite possibly the best known popular singer in the history of the world and is regarded by many to be the best.
