What is The Band Noir?

A Hollywood Based Band. The "noir" is a French for the word Black. It consists of four members. The Lead Singer/guitar- Syd James (Born James Byous), Rhythm Guitar and Vocals- Keith Calkins, Percussion and Vocals- Lizzie Shipton, Bass and Vocals- Tyler Compton.
They all attended acting school together at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and would practice after class down the street at the world famous Karma Koffeehouse(recently shut down) in front of their fellow classmates. Syd is best known for his High vocal range and fun presence on stage. He has been known to resemble that of The Doors frontman, Jim Morrison whilst intoxicated during a show.

The Band Noir has a sound Unique to any other Alternative Rock Band - the White Stripes meets Wilco meets Radiohead, if you can only imagine. They preform all around Hollywood and have been rumored to appear in Syd's home town of Modesto California.
They have one Album in production and their Motto is "Long live alternative".

Off the Stage, Lots of drama occurs between Band Members, public Love affairs, Drug Use, Parties, and frequent outbursts. Its always an interesting time with the BAND NOIR.
