What is The Circle Of Death?

Refers to the common occurence in video or computer game multiplayer deathmatches for two opposing characters to circle strafe while facing one another, locked in a spiral of destruction as they fire incredible amounts of bullets/rockets/blaster bolts at each other in an attempt to kill the other before being killed themselves.
The circle of death would absolutely never happen in real combat.
