What is The Couch Effect?

falling in love: as you become closer and have more feelings for them, you sit closer and closer to them on the couch/chesterfeild.
the end result being that the pair sit in the middle of the couch
jim and jill meet: they sit on opposite ends of the couch at a party
jim and jill begin to like each other: they move in a bit closer( the couch effect starts working)
jim and jill fall in love: they sit in the middle of the couch (the couch affect in full swing)
